My name is Joseph Vanoye and I’m a passionate filmmaker from Austin, Texas. My love for cinema began at the age of 6 when my parents would take my brothers and I every week to Blockbuster; Those movie nights sparked something magical in me. The thrill of discovering new stories and rewatching old favorites got me hooked. By the time I hit 12, I was creating my own films. I taught myself how to use Adobe Suite and dove into the world of filmmaking. In December of 2023, I graduated from Austin Community College with an Associates in Radio-Television-Film. My journey in filmmaking began at a young age, experimenting with content creation on YouTube before delving deeper into the craft. From learning editing and color grading to mastering the art of filming, I gradually refined my skills. Transitioning to a professional setting, I joined GRAV Labs, where I further developed my abilities in visual storytelling.
An important milestone was my involvement in creating a narrative commercial for AFS as part of an immersive training program. This experience allowed me to apply my skills in a real-world setting. Last year, I took the leap into independent filmmaking, producing my first student short film. This project fueled my passion for storytelling and inspired me to venture into screenwriting. Now, I'm excited to embark on the journey of bringing my own cinematic visions to life.
